Coming from Epinal, France, Charles Leval known as LEVALET grew up in Guadeloupe, where he first came into contact with urban culture followed by plastic arts.
He later pursued his studies in visual arts in Strasbourg and with his works starts to transition to video which is enriched by his industrious theatratic methods.
In 2012, he starts to take his work to the streets of Paris.
The works of LEVALET is above all a work of design and installation in the public sphere that puts his characters drawn with Indian ink into a game of visual dialogue and semantics with the surrounding environment.
The characters interact with the architecture and find themselves in situations often bordering on absurd.
